I am dating a man 66 years and he is about to graduate with his Bachelor 8767 s. I still don 8767 t believe he is 76 because he is mature. He makes me smile and we have been together for 9 months. Trust me by the way he looks he can date anyone and I am very secure plus nobody believes I am 87 I do look 75. We age well in my family. But He is attracted to me being secure and confident. He can 8767 t stand most of college girls. If we have any disagreements we get over it pretty quickly and laugh about it. We still till this day act like we just started dating. We click so well and talk about everything. Trust me we both were concerned about our ages but our friends and families are okay with it. Good luck to all but trust me it took a not for me to consider dating him. Hey if older men can date women why not us?:)
“Take care, then, to be firmly grounded in the teachings of the Lord and his apostles so that you may prosper in all your doings both in body and in soul, in faith and in love, in the Son, and in the Father and in the Spirit, in the beginning and in the end, along with your most worthy bishop and his spiritual crown, your presbyters, and with the deacons, who are men of God.”
St. Ignatius of Antioch
“For when God gave great knowledge to the human being, the human being elevated himself in his soul and turned away from God. God so regarded the human being that he would perfect all his works in him. But the old deceiver tricked human beings and infected them with the crime of disobedience, by the delight of an unseasonable wind, so that they sought for more than they should have.”
St. Hildegard of Bingen
“Truth is power, but only when one has patience and requires of it no immediate effect. And one must have no specific aims. Somehow, lack of an agenda is the greatest power. Sometimes it is better not to think in terms of plans here months may mean nothing, and also years. Truth must be sought for its own sake, its holy, divine greatness.”
Fr. Romano Guardini
The things a man will do at the insistence of a woman. Poor Charlie Allnut (Humphrey Bogart) gets suckered into going after a German gunboat by the feisty Rose Sayer. When her brother is killed by the invading Germans in East Africa, she recruits Charlie, the captain of the African Queen, to take down the offenders. I guess Katherine Hepburn can be pretty persuasive because despite the craziness and certain death that awaits them, Charlie gives in. It works out pretty well for him because they get married and he gets to blow up the bad guys.
“You people of Vitebsk want to put me to death. You make ambushes for me everywhere, in the streets, on the bridges, on the highways, and in the marketplace. I am here among you as a shepherd and you ought to know that I should be happy to give my life for you. I am ready to die for the holy union, for the supremacy of St. Peter and of his successor the Supreme Pontiff.”
St. Josaphat of Polotsk
Signs of the Times - Or, what is the world coming to?
When HBO premiered The Bridges of Madison County they touted it as
&lsquo the love story of the century.&rsquo The first time I heard that ad I thought to myself:
This is great job security. As long as our society believes that Bridges of Madison County
is the love story of the century, I will have a job! If a brief, clandestine encounter is
equated with true love, no wonder marriage is in trouble.
Pat Love, The Truth About Love
My husband s parents are both many times divorced and remarried. At our wedding
banquet he made a toast: We d like to thank our parents, too numerous to mention.
One of my favorite stories about couples who want vows as long as love shall
last, is about then Education Secretary William Bennett who heard such a
wedding vow from a junior colleague & spouse. He sent paper plates as his wedding gift!
“Now, this is the most amazing thing when you think about it. Sperm, this little sperm, it does not have an immortal soul. And the ovum, you see, it does not have an immortal soul. And when the two come together, where does that immortal soul come from? The sperm doesn’t carry it. The egg doesn’t carry it. Where does it come from? It comes from a new act of creation by God. In each act of conception, there needs to be a new act of creation by God.”
“He (Christ) really made His body a living sacrifice, because, though slain, He continues to live. In such a victim death receives its ransom, but the victim remains alive. Death itself suffers the punishment. This is why death for the martyrs is actually a birth, and their end a beginning. Their execution is the door to life, and those who were thought to have been blotted out from the earth shine brilliantly in heaven.”
I did not know the feeling was mutual until we were at my friends one night having a few drinks and he kissed me. It just progressed from there. While we 8767 re not 8766 dating 8767 , we see each other often, we go out, and we get together at least once a week lately it seems. At first I was bothered by the age difference, but not so much now. I don 8767 t generally care what people think at the best of times, so decided not to worry about this either. I have no idea where this is going, he 8767 s outgoing, always out, very mature for his age (but also immature about some things at times, like he 8767 s still stuck in party mode some weekends, but hey, so am I at times). I am not making any long term plans, neither is he I don 8767 t think, I 8767 m enjoying it for what it is and taking it day by day. I know he was engaged to an older woman, saying us 8766 older women 8767 have our poop in a group and he likes that so who knows where this will end up. For now, this works for us and I 8767 m having zero regrets 🙂
“They (prisoners) die in different ways, and I help them to cross over this little bridge into eternity. Is this not a blessing? Isn''t this the greatest crown which God could have placed upon my head? It is indeed. I thank God a thousand times a day for sending me here. I do not ask him for anything else. Do not worry, and do not lose faith at what I share. Instead, rejoice with me. Pray for those who created this concentration camp and this system. They are the only ones who need prayers.. May God have mercy upon them.”
Blessed Emilian Kowcz
His son replies, Oh that! Mom dragged you to the bedroom, and when she
tried to take your pants off, you said, Lady, leave me alone, I m married !
A man and his wife were having some problems at home and were giving each
other the silent treatment. The next week the man realized that he would
need his wife to wake him at am for an early morning business flight to Chicago.
Not wanting to be the first to break the silence, he finally wrote on a piece of paper,
Please wake me at am.
The next morning the man woke up, only to discover it was , and that he
had missed his flight. Furious, he was about to go and see why his wife hadn t
woken him when he noticed a piece of paper by the bed. it said. It is wake up.
“If Christ Jesus dwells in a man as his friend and noble leader, that man can endure all things, for Christ helps and strengthens us and never abandons us. He is a true friend. And I clearly see that if we expect to please him and receive an abundance of his graces, God desires that these graces must come to us from the hands of Christ, through his most sacred humanity, in which God takes delight.”
“Son, as far as I am concerned, nothing in this life now gives me any pleasure. I do not know why I am still here, since I have no further hopes in this world. I did have one reason for wanting to live a little longer: to see you become a Catholic Christian before I died. God has lavished his gifts on me in that respect, for I know that you have even renounced earthly happiness to be His servant. So what am I doing here?”
“We are commanded to love God with all our strength, heart, mind and soul and our neighbor in the same way God loves us it is the same love flowing between God and the soul the soul and its neighbor. It is difficult, but the burden of the cross is light compared to the cross of uncontrolled emotions, anger, insistence on one’s own opinion, the frustration of trying to change others rather than being changed oneself, resentment, regrets and guilt. Accepting the present moment like Jesus did is certainly a lighter burden.”
“We ought to fast, and to abstain from all vice, and from all that will lead us into sin, as well as from extravagance and superfluity. We should often visit the churches, and venerate and reverence all ecclesiastics on account of their office, and because they distribute the Sacred Body and Blood of Christ, which they offer in sacrifice, receive themselves, and administer to others. And let everyone know and hold for certain that we cannot be saved except through the sacred Words and the Precious Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, which priests preach, announce, and distribute, and of which they are the sole ministers.”
St. Francis of Assisi
“Our human dignity is inseperable from the sacredness of life as a gift of the Creator. In God''s plan, each person is unique and irreplaceable. A person comes into this world in a family, which is the first focus of humanization, and above all the first school of peace. To build peace, we need to look to the family, supporting it and facilitating its task, and in this way promoting an overall culture of life. The effectiveness of our commitment to peace depends on our understanding of human life. If we want peace, let us defend life!”
Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI
He came to town a couple months before his wedding for his birthday and I agreed to see him, one last time. He again told me how much he loves me but I pulled away. He 8767 s getting married to someone else!!!!! Fast forward, he got married in September. Then popped up at my office in December. I was shocked and upset that he didn 8767 t respect my choice to not see him again. Seeing a ring on his finger was sickening!!!! I dismisses him and that was that, except for happy birthday and holiday texts or text telling me he 8767 s in town and wants to see me and can 8767 t stop thinking about me.
“As to the treasons which have been laid to my charge, and for which I come here to suffer, I desire you all to bear witness with me that I am thereto altogether innocent. I am a Catholic man and a priest in that Faith I have lived, and in that Faith do I intend to die. If you esteem my Religion treason, then I am guilty as for the other treason, I never committed any, God is my judge.”
“Whosoever you are who introduce new doctrines, I beseech you to spare the ears of Romans! Spare that faith which was commended by the voice of an Apostle. Why should you attempt to teach us, at the end of hundreds of years, that which we never heard before? Why bring forward what Peter and Paul did not will to make known? Until this day, the world was Christian without your doctrine. Thus, I hold as an old man onto that faith wherein I was regenerated as a boy.”
