In the world of marketing (which, in the end, is what online dating is all about), the goal is to reach the right customer, not every customer. This goal is called strategic positioning, the process of defining who you are in a way that your customers understand whether they 8767 re a good match for you. Likewise, in the world of online dating, your goal is to present yourself in a way that tends to attract the right kind of person, not every available prospect.
8775 I went to school in the east coast, but now I work for a major software company where I work up the corporate ladder. I very busy. I love hiking, watching baseball, and bbq on weekends. 8776 the writer must be reminded that this is a dating profile not a resume or a sales presentation in front of his human resources department. Again, this profile has a very weak beginning. as a rule, you should never start your profile by talking about school or work, as it 8767 s not interesting and not really relevant to what you should be trying to achieve to catch a woman 8767 s attention. 8776
I loooove to sing Luther Vandross songs. Also, I would love to be blessed with the lady of my life. Want to know more??? Well, that can 8767 t happen unless you contact me. Hate playing games??!! Hate being told lies??!! Well, come on I 8767 M YOUR MAN!!!YOU NEED THIS in your life!!! PEACE & BLESSINGS!!! You still haven’t messaged me yet??!! LET 8767 S GO CHOP, CHOP!!!! (smile) MAY GOD BLESS YOU INDEED!! I receive messages frequently but I do respond quickly. XOXOXOXO applause:
I am looking for someone with honesty and integrity. Please be who you say you are please no game players! Please show a recent photo (get out of denial, yes, you and I both have aged hopefully, gracefully, lol!) We all wish we looked and felt the way we did 65 years ago! A person with a good sense of humor A smile goes a long way make someone happy today! My profile says I am 55 Sorry, I wasn 8767 t able to change it I am .. 56!
I new something was up but didn 8767 t know what was wrong let alone how to fix it. I found your site and instantly identified with the username issue. I read the article, watched the video and downloaded your workbook. I started the keyword brainstorming and couldn 8767 t stop thinking about the two examples 8775 Once Upon A Tom 8776 and 8775 Mike in Shining Armor 8776 . I thought about the way most children 8767 s stories end and they lived happily ever after. From that I came up with the username 8775 HowieEverAfter 8776 . Howie is one of my nicknames.
I would hate to bore you by telling you how wonderful I am by attaching to my name a bunch of flattering adjectives. I am sure that you have already found this about two hundred times in all the other profiles. I believe that words are cheap, but actions speak much louder, so why bother? So, why not start with a bad stuff I am impulsive and restless at times, I can 8767 t kill a fly, I cried twice like a girl when I watched 8775 Notebook, 8776 I cuss too often, and stay up way too late way too often. There is something about the nighttime that I find magic, if you will, which keeps me up working or hanging out aimlessly. Can you relate? I have little patience for flakes and fake people those who smile while being angry on the inside, as I never know what they keep up their sleeve. How about you? What annoyed you today? And what made you weak in your knees from joy and pleasure?
That 8767 s only partially true. Photos are a good start but they can only get you so far, especially if you are dealing with a woman who is looking for substance and real connection. Also, most men fall into the category of average + looks, . the type of category where what you write can make you more or less interesting and attractive. What we, men, look at only tells part of the story about women. After all, let us not forget that we are different creatures and we operate differently.
I 8767 ve seen this profile on dating sites copied word for word so many times. I recommend not using it as it is so easily recognisable because of how it 8767 s filled with stupid things no normal guy would ever actually say. Any girl who goes hang on I 8767 ve heard this before, and googles it will discover that you have so little personality that you had to copy a profile word for word.
Just describe who you actually are, honestly. Use your own personality!
I see profiles that describe their jobs similar to the example above all the time. That 8767 s a great job for Jessica. Nurses are some of the most amazing and admirable people walking this earth. (Or maybe I 8767 m just sub consciously trying to get brownie points right now with my amazing girlfriend who happens to be a nurse?) The only problem is, Jessica sounds exactly the same as every other nurse on the Internet!

I can t tell you how many times I have read a guy s profile and literally cringed at how it was written. It doesn t matter how good looking you may think you are, what you say and how you say it has a lot to do with how you are perceived. What you didn t mention, at least in this article, are the types of pictures that should and shouldn t be posted. Maybe it s just me, but I can t stand shirtless mirror shots. Is that all you ve got to offer? If you re just looking for a hookup, I guess it s perfect. Even worse, the shots of a guy taking his own picture in the mirror with his camera or phone, like he s so insecure he can t admit to anyone he needs help getting a good picture of himself. I am not a 65 by any stretch, but I think photos I ve posted say a lot about my personality, interests, and sense of humor, and that is what the guys I m looking for really care about anyway.
Other ways to get great keywords:
• Browse through a dictionary for words that look good visually.
• Grab a random book or magazine near you, look through it for words that stand out.
Now that you have some keywords in your list, use to get more ideas. Here is an example of some great words I found by looking up the synonyms of happy.
In addition to displaying a screen name, many online-dating sites allow you to display a phrase, called a tagline. Some sites, such as , let you choose a long screen name and a long tagline. That option can be a bit overwhelming, though, so go with a relatively short name and focus your creative juices on the tagline. If you try to be too creative with both, they tend to conflict and create a confused message.
Thanks for posting this, Radio! I was doing some research this week-end on how to improve my online dating profile, and stumbled on your site. The guide is a great source of inspiration, and it really helps that you 8767 re giving so many examples in there, both of what to do and what *not* to do. I 8767 m going go fill out the worksheet from your guide, and look forward to more online dating success. I 8767 m already getting some ideas how about EmotionsInMotion? Or EcstaticElastic? Hmm, I 8767 ll keep thinking 🙂
Your second example shows that this person defines himself by what he does not who he is. He apparently doesn t know much about himself. Lacking a little in self confidence. Although he does express some of his interests but not specific enough. I ask, who doesn t like BBQ s? Most people like to go for walks or hiking the only difference is the scenery. Watching baseball?? would that be on TV or going to baseball games. There is a big difference. So I would have to say just about anybody could be a possible match for this person. I agree it generically boring.
Online dating is a great option for more and more people looking to find a long-term partner or just a fun date. Your online profile is what will help people decide whether to contact you or not. To create a good dating profile you’ll want to write an attention-getting bio. Attach a handful of unique photos to your account as well. Keep your profile positive and you soon will be attracting all sorts of potential partners.
And yet another short list of things that I’m not really fond of:
Cars (can’t tell why I put this one first )
Self-centered people (but, hey Have you ever heard anybody saying “yes, yes, I am definitely self-centered.” So this one doesn’t really count!!)
TV (even if I like one or two shows and some movies)
Superficial people (but same problem as #7 )
l joined Cupid with gentle persuasion from my lovely niece, l had no real expectation of finding love, just thought it might be fun. after a few short weeks on site up pops a chap who called me MATE !!!...This guy needs help l thought !!! we chatted and chatted, messaged, giggled and laughed together and well there s enough stuff on here to write a book or two !!! Might even do just that one day !!!
